W.I.L.D Women Event Recap: Women in Politics
Our October W.I.L.D Women™ event, Women in Politics, brought together a packed room of women eager to learn, connect, and be inspired by those stepping into leadership right here in our community.

Guided by a Thoughtful Moderator
A very special thank-you goes to our moderator, Lisa Szabon-Smith, who did an incredible job guiding the conversation throughout the evening.
Lisa’s thoughtful questions and natural ability to connect with each panelist helped create an atmosphere that felt both engaging and personal. Her leadership helped bridge the gap between the stage and the audience, allowing everyone in the room to see the panelists not only as candidates, but as everyday women who care deeply about the future of High River.
Her approach created space for vulnerability, honesty, and meaningful dialogue — something that made the evening especially memorable.
A Night of Connection and Conversation
What made the evening truly powerful wasn’t just hearing from the candidates — it was the energy in the room.
Women from across the community gathered to listen, ask questions, and share in a conversation about leadership, civic engagement, and the role women play in shaping the future of the communities we live in.
By the end of the night, many attendees walked away with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the courage it takes to step forward and run for office.
The evening reminded everyone in attendance that leadership doesn’t always begin with running for office.
Sometimes it begins with simply caring enough to show up, engage in conversation, and believe your voice matters.
Setting the Tone for the Season
As the first event of the W.I.L.D Women™ season, Women in Politics set a powerful tone for the conversations that would follow throughout the year.
W.I.L.D Women™ isn’t just about networking.
It’s about creating spaces where women can share their stories, explore ideas, support one another, and leave feeling inspired by what’s possible.
And if the energy in the room that night was any indication, this season of W.I.L.D Women™ was just getting started.
Join the Conversation
W.I.L.D Women™ continues to bring women together through inspiring speakers, meaningful conversations, and powerful community connections.
Each event creates a space where women can gather, share, and grow together.
We can’t wait to see who joins the conversation next.
